This is the funding to which I referred Sunday Morning after our Pro-Life video. I mentioned $33M, I believe, but it's much more than that.Today, the Supreme Court of the United States overruled the nearly 50-year-old Roe v Wade decision from 1973. This marks a monumental victory for Texans who value the life of the unborn. With this landmark decision, the highest court has returned the issue to individual states along with the power to set their own abortion laws.
Last year, the Texas Legislature passed a law that makes this reversal of Roe v Wade effective 30 days from today’s ruling.
Like many of you, I believe every life is precious. That’s why last session, in the state budget I worked to increase alternatives to abortion by over $100 million and sponsored HB 133 to extend postpartum Medicaid for women. Together, we can create a culture of life. ... See MoreSee Less

So, just a tiresome process of well-intentioned people thinking they needed to make the two recommendations a teensie bit better, and one guy opposing it because it "creates another whole bureaucracy for a tiny problem". Somebody else opposed the fact that the Guidepost Report (not Guidestone) organization posted a pro-GLBTX+ tweet, but it was our own Task Force who made the recommendation.
Then somebody else wanted to amend the report with a footnote that was already in the report, and another somebody wanted the two recommendations from the Task Force to be divided into two questions for voting. That failed because the Recommendation of the Task Force was two-fold, depending on one another.
When all was said and done, the actually Recommendation was OVERWHELMINGLY accepted.

Sometimes, we get to hear their voices, but not see their faces.
There’s a lot to criticize In the US, but at least it has not yet come to facing death for sharing our faith.
